In a fresh expansion of our Agro & Forestry portfolio, Soldatovic Holding forged a vital joint venture in Eastern Serbia, overseeing a sprawling 70-hectare apple orchard. This strategic partnership elevates local agricultural output while positioning us within innovative value chains—spanning premium apple exports to artisanal rakija production.
Situated in the heart of Eastern Serbia, this orchard thrives under modern cultivation methods. Apples are classified by quality:
Class A & B: These highest-quality fruits are grown for fresh export—shipped to markets across the Middle East and Asia, reflecting Serbia’s growing prominence as a global supplier.
Class C: Lower-grade apples are expertly repurposed into rakija, Serbia’s iconic fruit brandy—continuing local tradition with modern agricultural output.

This JV marks Soldatović Holding’s entry into agribusiness, combining export-grade produce with heritage-based value creation. Serbia exported approximately €74 million in fresh apples during the first eight months of 2022, underscoring the strength of demand for quality local produce.
Meanwhile, rakija—distilled from fermented fruit—is rapidly rising as one of Serbia’s most recognizable exports, with annual export values estimated at around €25 million, including shipments to distant markets such as Australia.
